Delivery & Fit

Most of what we sell ships from the manufacturer straight to your door. A little planning before you order means the piece arrives, fits, and finds its place without surprises.

How delivery works

We deliver within Canada only. Depending on the supplier and where you live, your order travels by Canada Post, Purolator, FedEx, UPS, or a local delivery carrier, which is common for larger pieces. If your order includes items from more than one manufacturer, it may arrive in separate shipments.

Standard delivery is to your doorstep. The driver does not bring the item inside or assemble it, and if you live in a building, it is left in the lobby. We cannot deliver to PO boxes. Remote or rural addresses can carry an extra delivery charge. If yours does, we will tell you the cost before we process your payment so you can decide whether to go ahead.

Lead times vary by piece and are listed in our shipping policy.

Before you order: measure the space

Decide exactly where the piece will live and measure that spot: width, depth, and height. Mark it out on the floor with painter's tape to see how it sits in the room, and leave space to walk around it, open doors and drawers, and pull out chairs. For lighting, measure your ceiling height and how much room you want between the fixture and the floor or table below it.

Measure the way in

Large pieces have to get through your home before they can sit in it. Measure every doorway, hallway, and staircase on the route, including the narrowest points and any tight turns. In a condo or apartment, also measure the elevator interior and door opening, and check with your building about delivery rules and booking times. Allow a little clearance on every measurement, at least an inch (about 2.5 cm), because pieces rarely slide through at exactly their stated size.

Read the dimensions

Each product page lists its dimensions under the dimensions section, including width, height, depth, and weight. Where the manufacturer provides it, you will also find the carton size, which is the size of the box your piece arrives in. Compare that to your doorways and stairs as well as the finished size. Rugs are sold by size, so choose the size in the selector before you check the numbers. If a measurement you need is not listed, ask us and we will find out for you.

When it arrives

Please inspect your delivery before the driver leaves, and report any damage or defect to us within 48 hours of receipt using our Damage & Defect Claim form, with photos of the item, the damage, and the packaging. Keep the packaging until you have confirmed everything is in order.
